About Us

 

 

4ThoseWhoServe is a national membership organization of behavioral health specialists with a focus on prevention, management, and support of military and first responder personnel who are susceptible to, or who suffer from, traumatic stress disorders such as PTSD. 

 

4ThoseWhoServe enhances and improves the tools and awareness in the behavioral health, primary care, military, and first responder communities by promoting the best content, tools, training and events to those connected with this important cause.  The goal is to improve the quality and success of member organizations and practices – and ultimately to advance support for uniformed public servants exposed to physical danger and emotional trauma.

In May 2007, 4ThoseWhoServe announced the first-ever traumatology and combat stress training specifically for clinicians who serve, or are interested in serving, the military, fire, police, and emergency medical communities.

 

4ThoseWhoServe founding members include recognized leaders in the medical and behavioral health communities.  It’s Chair, Dodie Gill, LPC, LSATP, CEAP, has over 35 years of behavioral health experience and is an expert in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of trauma-related stress.  Ms. Gill has collaborated with the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and The Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism.  Her comprehensive service model utilized inside the perimeter after the September 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon was cited in the After Action Report as one that other jurisdictions throughout the country should emulate.
